Where to Find Music Artists in London: Music Hot Spots

London Music Artists Hot Spot The Cumberland Blog

We are in our element with this one because at The Cumberland Hotel, music isn’t just a backing track, it’s embedded in our bones. And we are proud to stand tall in a city that lives and breathes music: London.

From iconic studios to underground venues, cosy cafés to rooftop sessions, the capital has long been a magnet for global legends and grassroots talent alike.

Whether you’re a chilled-out folk lover or a full-blown rock and roll romantic (we won’t judge, but we do have a soft spot for a guitar solo), there’s no shortage of unforgettable things to do in London if you’re following the beat. Especially if you’re staying right in the heart of it all at The Cumberland Hotel.

The Cumberland Hotel – A London Hotel Made for Music

We’re more than just a place to stay, we’re part of London’s musical identity.

Over the decades, The Cumberland Hotel has welcomed world-famous musicians including Diana Ross, Madonna, and the legendary Jimi Hendrix (to name drop just a few). In fact, this was Jimi Hendrix’s last recorded address before his passing in 1970.

Our love for music is like a bassist’s love for groove: deep, steady, and full of soul. That’s why we host live performances at our SOUND Café throughout the week. Our lobby has echoed with riffs, rhythms, and history. If only the walls could talk, they would have some serious stories to tell. Check out events at SOUND here.

And with Marble Arch and Hyde Park just steps away, and London’s West End a short stroll beyond, you’re perfectly placed to explore the city’s most iconic music landmarks.

Not booked your stay yet? Book it now through The Cumberland website.

Why is London So Famous for Music?

Whether it’s the dive bars of Camden or the grandeur of the Royal Albert Hall, London’s music culture is stitched into everyday life.

You will hear buskers in the Underground, discover indie bands tucked away in Shoreditch bars and catch jazz sets in basement bars. Whatever your vibe, London has a soundtrack for it.

And if you’re still building your bucket list of things to do in London, here’s a top tip: follow the music.
